Metallica to Rock Wachovia Center on January 17
Legendary rockers Metallica, featuring lead singer James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, and bassist Robert Trujillo joins Machine Head and The Sword for a one-night explosion of rock at the Wachovia Center on Saturday, January 17 at 7 p.m. Tickets at $62.50, $78.94, $82.50, and $98.94 will go on sale on Saturday, September 13 at 10 a.m. via ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, the Wachovia Complex Box Office, and select ACME locations.
On the heels of their new album “Death Magnetic,” which releases in stores on Friday, September 12, Metallica embarks on their first North American tour in four years. Fans will experience the thunderous assault of Metallica mayhem that will feature a mixture of classic Metallica songs and new material from the new album.
Metallica originally exploded onto the music scene in 1983 with their own ferocious brand of rock n' roll and debut album “Kill ’em All.” They blazed a wave of frenzied musical energy and thrilling live performances lead by the inspired vocals of Hetfield.
With 90 million records sold worldwide, including 57 million in the United States, the band has won seven Grammy Awards, and has had four albums peak at number one on the Billboard 200. The band's 1991 album, “Metallica,” has sold over 15 million copies, which makes it the 25th highest selling album in the United States.
