Celtic Thunder Roars Into Wachovia Spectrum on October 25
Showcasing a new group of exceptionally talented male singers from Ireland and Scotland, Celtic Thunder brings their internationally renowned power of music to the Wachovia Spectrum on Saturday, October 25 at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now exclusively ComcastTIX.com, 1-800-298-4200, the Wachovia Complex Box Office, and select ACME locations.
Celtic Thunder was the breakout hit during pledge season in spring of 2008 on public television across the United States. Created by Sharon Browne, Celtic Thunder performs an electric mix of songs, ranging from the traditional “Mountains of Mourne” and “Come By the Hills” to international hits such as “Brothers in Arms” and “Desperado,” as well as original compositions by Celtic Thunder’s musical director and composer Phil Coulter.
Celtic Thunder will be one of the many acts that will help celebrate the final season of the Wachovia Spectrum. Comcast-Spectacor is closing the 42-year-old arena at the conclusion of the 2008-09 Philadelphia Phantoms and Philadelphia Kixx hockey and soccer seasons. The company is encouraging residents throughout the Greater Philadelphia Region to celebrate the many wonderful memories of the Spectrum.
The ensemble songs reflect the power of the five soloists, who range in age from 14 to 40 and share a common Celtic heritage. The young men of Celtic Thunder include Keith Harkin, Ryan Kelly, Paul Byrom, George Donaldson and Damian McGinty.
